Morris Jones Jr.
PGA Professional
Morris Jones Jr., known as Coach Mōjō, is a passionate golf professional dedicated to developing players of all levels— from beginners to PGA Tour professionals and elite athletes. Originally from Davenport, Iowa, Mōjō discovered his love for golf at the age of 29 while volunteering with The First Tee Program in Nashville, TN, where he became a Level 2 Coach.
At 30, his dedication caught the attention of Lead Head Coach Robert “Bob” Moore at The First Tee and Head Coach of Fisk University’s Golf Team. This pivotal moment led to Morris earning a golf scholarship at Fisk University, one of the most historic and prestigious Black universities in the nation—despite having played golf for only one year.
While majoring in art, he continued to excel at golf and remained deeply involved in golf-related youth initiatives, including The Chief Thompson Foundation. Determined to pursue his passion for the game, Morris dedicated himself to professional golf, competing on the APGA Tour (2019) and entering various Monday qualifiers. His charisma and skill even landed him on ABC’s “Holey Moley” (Season 2, Episode 3), hosted by NBA superstar Steph Curry.
Coach Mōjō is known for bringing enthusiasm, positivity, and humor to a game that often demands all three. His expertise spans junior golfers, beginners, advanced players, and professional athletes, with a focus on fundamentals, course strategy, rules, and most importantly—enjoying the game to the fullest.
